TRITIUM NIGHT SIGHT Differance?
« on: May 17, 2017, 09:42:09 PM »
"TRITIUM NIGHT SIGHTS FOR USE ON RAMI ONLY" CZ-USA offers two versions for the Rami -19202E and 19202F, but offers little explanation of the difference between the two.
Cajin GW  seemed to favor the "F" version, so that's what I put on my new Rami 9mm. It is made by Tru Dot, and came from CZ unpackaged for $85.
These new sights did not fit as tightly as the original ones. The rear one shot loose, and needed Loctite on the set screw to keep it centered. I had to dimple the front dovetail to make the sight fit tight. It shoots dead on for windage, and about a half inch high at 10 yards, bench rested. They are bright enough, day or night.
So, how does the "E" version differ??
CZ-83, CZ-75D PCR, finally, a CZ Rami 9mm
Sure, I'd like to be young again, if it didn't come with such a big dose of stupid.

The "E" looks to be a #2, and the "F" is a #3. It's the height of the front site. The # is stamped under the front site. Other than that, there's no difference that I know of.
Also they are made by Meprolight. Meprolight "Tru Dots".

Meprolite night sights are absolute garbage. They're made of super soft malleable metal which is probably why it shook loose.

Also, their tritium vials break and or go dead at an alarming rate.

I would use Trijicon night sights -- they're much better. I believe you should be able to use either a standard CZ75 rear sight or possibly the Shadow as well with the step down at the back of the slide. Unlike the standard pinned CZ front sight, the front sight on the Rami is a standard Novak dovetail cut, so you should be able to use Trijicon or any quality night sight -- not Meprolite because they absolutely suck!

CZ Custom has several to choose from:

Be sure to figure out what height sight to use for elevation before purchase.

Anybody that reads your posts know you absolutely Hate Meprolights. Yes they are inferior. Yes, those of us that use them are stupid. Yes, Trijicon is the God of all sights. Your response has nothing to do with the OP's question.
Now if he had asked if they're any good, by all means go on your typical Meprolight rant. But he asked what the difference was. He's already purchased and installed them. Someday if I change sights I may very well try Trijicon or some other, but I've had Zero issues with mine on three pistols. 2 of which I installed myself with Zero issues.
We get it, you hate them. But really, does every post concerning Meprolight that you respond to, have to have your typical "Meprolight Baaad, Trijicon gooood" mantra?  Flame away. [emoji85][emoji86][emoji87]

What, do you own stock in Meprolite?

Well, I've had them come on half a dozen different pistols (mostly SIGs as well as the Rami). More than half of them went bad, either from tritium vials dead way before their time or extremely soft base material.

Have not had any problem with dozens of Trijicon sights, some of which are still usable 15 years on.

Just a public service announcement regarding a !@##ty product -- buyer beware.

I wish I owned stock in Meprolight. [emoji12]
Come on, you can do better than that. [emoji50]
Said my piece, either way you didn't even try to help the OP with his question.
But of course it's only your opinion that matters ain't it.  [emoji8]

I'm not stating opinions, only facts. Just trying to help folks by warning people to avoid an inferior product. My advice to the OP (or anyone else) is to not buy Meprolight...too late! Well, maybe this will help somebody else. Of course, I see that several people on here already know, when they bought brand new BDs that came out of the box with dead Meprolight sights.

I'll try to dig all my dead, discarded Meprolight sights (or the shattered pieces thereof) out of the dust bin so you all can see what garbage they are.
