45 ACP - Recommendations
« on: April 14, 2017, 07:29:36 PM »
What CZ or Clone options do we have in 45 ACP?

I'm aware of a few

CZ 97
Tanfoglio Witness
IWI Jericho

Any others?

That pretty well covers it. You certainly can't go wrong with a CZ97B or BD. They are outstanding.

Big Fan of the .45 Witness and SAR K2-45, here.

From Left to Right
EAA Witness .45 (1992)
EAA Witness .45 (2004)
SAR K2-45 (2013)

I like the look of that 1992 pistol.  Very "big" CZ 75 looking.
I just keep wasting time and money on other brands trying to find/make one shoot like my P07 and P09.  What is wrong with me?

Very difficult to go wrong with any of the EAA or Tanfoglio or TZ firearms.
I owned and operated an indoor range for more than 22 years and have been a licensed dealer since 78. Of ALL the firearms especially the EAA guns, NONE, ever came back to me with ANY kind of a problem. In fact, of those listed above I have never heard of anyone having a problem.
As to 45, I would be happy with another EAA witness. Great shooter, very accurate inherently and built to last several lifetimes.

I own a K2, it's OK, but nothing for me to brag about, if you get my drift. I have shot a friends 97, not a bad gun. I love shooting my CZ's in 9mm, but when it comes to 45's, for me, nothing beats a good old 1911.

Dan Wesson line of guns if you don't mind 1911's, are great shooters, and solid guns. They are part of the CZ family.

I loves my 97 BD, Period!
now depending on what you want to spend for bragging rights in addition to the basic Witness series  Tanfoglio (EAA) also makes the
Elite match, the  Stock I and the Stock II weapons.
I have a Elite Match in 38 Super that is just one hell of a weapon.

In addition to my CZs in 9 and 40, There's a Sarsilmaz SAR K2 45 in the safe.
It's a great, accurate performer at an almost unbelievable price.
Amazingly comfortable grip given that it's a 14 shot doublestack 45.
Not really a "clone" though it certainly shares some CZ DNA.

K2-45 is an excellent, controllable, smooth, platform that offers a heck of a lot more than the old 1911.  14+1 rounds, DA/SA, can be carried Condition 1 if desired, all steel.  There are better 45ACPs out there, but they're all a lot more money in my experience or less useful, or both.  Good luck with your choice.

2 of my favorite 45ACP handguns:

CZ-97BD and S&W 625JM, I also really like my V-Bob and Springfield Range Officer Operator.

Well, if you don't have a 1911.
