Like the subject says, I am looking for some photos of this site installed.  Some of you may know I am not happy with the rear sight as it come lose from the factory and does not fit well at all.  Rather than send the slide off and wait a few weeks to get it back just to replace it in the end is time wasted.   The main view I am looking for it how deep the cut is in the rear and how it affects the firing pin retainer and if I will have to buy a new hammer.

Thanks in advance to all and also for any feedback even if you don't have a photo.
Thanks,
Tim

There is an example in this thread from CZ Custom on the Shadow 2:  http://www.czfirearms.us/index.php?topic=88515.0 .  The look would be similar on a Shadow.  I have this sight on a CZ75B and my 97BE, both done by CGW, and they do an excellent job with the slide cut.  I think you will need a new or, at least, modified hammer.   David or Scott would know for sure on the hammer question.

TexanFX2,
I looked at those sights but want one milled down and more low profile.  I believe that was what you were after also?

cdhbrad,
The milled example shown on CGW is what Im wanting.  The photo below is my EAA Witness Stock II.  This sight and sight picture is a lot better "for me" than the stock set up on the SP-01 Shadow.  I was hoping to see what something similar looked like on the Shadow.  I would like to get as much front to rear sight distance as possible.

Now Im trying to find out all the pros and cons of the LPA vs the BoMar style sights.

Thanks,
Tim

The CGW install on the LPA-TRT sight moves them as far back and as low as possible without overhanging the rear of the slide or interfering with the internals of the slides.  The cut is different than on your Witness as the rear of the blade is totally exposed.  The sight picture between an LPA-TRT and Bomar will be the same as the bodies of the two sights are virtually identical, it is the dimensions of the slide cut that are different between the two.  CGW uses Kensight manufactured sights and they are very well made.

I've never had success posting photos here, but I have a photo of my two CGW guns that I will be happy to email to you if you send me a PM with an address.

cdhbrad,

Email is vikings1966@yahoo.com.  Yes, I am a Minnesota Vikings fan.  I know, as long as I am living they will never win a Super Bowl.

TexanFX2,

I am also having issues with photobucket tonight.  Thanks for posting those photos, I can make out what you are presenting.  This being a one shot deal, I cant risk being disappointed with the end results.  Fortunately I have an excellent full time gunsmith close by.  We have spoke a few times now and I have decided to commission him for my work.  The Bo-Mar will be set to be even with the flat top, the rear will look like the Witness.  The Bo-Mar style is a little smaller than the LPA which will allow the cuts to not be as deep.  I am taking measurements from an original Bo-Mar on my 1911 and the Witness, which I believe to be an LPA.  In the end everything should look streamline with no step going from the sight to the flat top on the slide.
Thanks,
Tim

Well, I just read some bad news.  If I mill the slide the gun will not meet IDPA SSP rules.  What makes it even worse is the Tanfoglio Witness Stock 2 is to heavy for both SSP and ESP.  I would still be able to shoot the Shadow in ESP.

TexanFX2, do you mind measuring the height and width of the blade and also the size if the notch.

Thanks,
Tim

Kensight Bo-Mar style rear sight is here.  Looking forward to getting the slide milled to accept it.  I will have before and after photos coming.
Thanks,
Tim

Here is a photo of the gaps my rear sight has and why it is so lose.  With the set screw relieved, the sight can be moved in and out by hand.
Thanks,
Tim
