P07 and press checks
« on: June 05, 2017, 11:55:04 AM »
So I've picked up the habit of press checking my firearms to know it's condition. Obviously some guns are easier to do this than others. Glock & m&p are easy, and my 75 compact is relatively easy to check. However my 07 is a pain to check. I have to drop the hammer in order to do so.  The gun is brand new, so it could be a lack of use but it also could be I just don't have the off hand strength with just my thumb to do so.

Any one else have this problem?

That is "normal" with a 20# hammer spring ;-)

If you look at the right side rear of the barrel hood there is a small cutout - brass shows through when a round is chambered so no real need to press check.

Ah, that would do it then! Ya I do it out of habit from my other guns.
