P-09 Trigger reset
« on: January 20, 2018, 06:27:17 AM »
New to the forum and new to CZ pistols. 20 years of collecting and never owned one...now on a CZ binge.

Love the new P-09 that I picked up but the trigger reset is a bit long. Is there a short reset kit for this gun appropriate for a defense gun? Seems like the CGW kit is suited more for competition, i.e. the lighter springs.

Thanks

The SR kit from CGW is fine for defensive use.

The Short Reset will reduce your reset a great deal and works really great.
The installation requires a different hammer spring to be installed.
For defense the 18# spring is recommended. I shoot my P-09 for competition and have gone down to the #15 spring and it is very reliable.

dirk: I have the CGW Short Reset Kit in my Defense P-07 and it functions flawlessly. When I was considering whether or not to put the CGW parts in my Self-Defense pistol, I wondered if it would really make much of a difference. It really made a big difference.

We have videos showing you how to put the parts in yourself (thanks to Joe) that save you a lot of money.  Long story short--you will not regret putting the CGW Short Reset kit in your P-09.

Can a single action trigger of a CZ 75 and hammer be fitted to the po9 or po7 ?

Jan, Cajun Gun Works makes an upgrade hammer for the P-07/09 with its own set of hammer springs. It lightens and improves the SA trigger pull. If you click on the Cajun Gun Works logo at the top of the homepage here, you can look at all the P-07 parts and upgrades and the descriptions of what they do.

Thanks guys. Bought the short reset kit with the #18 hammer spring. We'll see.

I realize that the modern trend is a go for shorter and shorter reset and reset that is short and Crisp is the desired thing.   However, I asked a buddy of mine who shoots much and has trained professionally several times and gets to talk to very proficient shooters and he says that the best shooters in the business don?t use trigger reset and slap the trigger.  So, in the end I really question the race for short reset.
