New CZ 97 BD. Shot it yesterday Woohoo!!!!
« on: April 01, 2017, 11:20:27 AM »
I just picked up a CZ 97 yesterday, got it used for 600. It is the decock model with night sights, there is just something not right with the term "decock"  ;).  I'm very happy with it. I had zero failures for the first 200 or so rounds. it shot point of aim and I was able to shoot about 2 inches at 30 ft.

I was going to do a trigger job on it last night, but after looking at the complexity of the fire control group, with 3 small springs I decided to wait.  Looks like you have to pull the sear pin just to get the FCG out, I think Ill make a shorter pin to hold it all together while removing he FCG. It looks like a pain to reassemble,   Anyone have a good procedure to reassemble it?

I also noticed lots of free play in the thread in barrel bushing, that has to be bad for accuracy, are there any upgrades for the bushing?

So now I have 4 CZ pistols, a RAMI, a 75, a 97, a 52 and two CZ clones a UZI Eagle and a Canik Shark FC
Overall I'm pretty happy with all of them. ;D  This CZ platform is addicting and I'm sure I will collect more, in fact I have my eye on a Springfield P9 in 45acp, I may buy it today.  I wish there was an easy way to post pictures here.

Cheers!!!!

Give Cajun Gun Works a call. They can advise you on all the upgrades available for the 97 including a really nice upgrade they do with the barrel bushing.

Good for you! IMHO, the 97 is the ideal .45acp

I just love it, and am waiting for the next batch to hit the shipping terminal so I can buy a second one.

I fixed my bushing by putting a black rubber o ring under the bushing; worked like a charm

My 97 BD  has been just a  great weapon so far.
I did change the mainspring, the firing pin and spring, other than that its stock.
I first  ran 5-600 rounds through the weapon to let all the stock parts seat.
the weapon is among my favorite  45acp to shoot and has the accuracy of  pretty much any of my 14-15 different 1911's.
recoil is nice, ergos are super, so to me whats not to like.
MY 1911's don't get out much anymore actually.
