4th of July giveaway P10c
« on: July 15, 2017, 01:56:47 AM »
As you know, I was fortunate enough to have my name drawn for the P10 this year. The Black P10 arrived at my LGS today, and boy am I impressed. Now I've never owned a striker pistol before. I've looked at quite a few, but never warmed up to them. (Except maybe the Caniks).
This pistol to me, is as described. Very little take up (no squishy feel) and no perceivable over travel. Short reset, and feels great in my hand. I went with the medium back strap, the large almost felt better in the heel of my hand, but puts the beaver tail too far from the web of my hand. So the medium seems like the best fit.
Did I mention it feels great in my hand[emoji16]? I don't think I've found a plastic pistol feel this good. I even had to add a Houge Handall to my Phantom to make it perfect.
Playing with it right out of the box, the trigger pull was hovering pretty close to 5 3/4- 6 lbs according to my manual trigger scale. Mag release a little stiff as was the slide lock. Had quite a bit of gritty, gummy, packing oil all over the insides. Did a pretty good wipe down of the internals, need to watch more videos and read more threads before before I  attempt to tear it apart.
Lubed up with CLP Breakfree, ( boy I've got to learn the oil points, I made a BIG mess[emoji85][emoji86][emoji87]) Things are a lot better now. Trigger pull hovers right about 5lbs + a skosh. Mag release feels pretty good, ( still have to twist my grip to use my thumb, but hey, I gotta do that with all my CZ's[emoji6]) The slide lock is still pretty stiff, but with wear I think it'll loosen up fine.
Sadly, I can't give a range report yet. Approaching triple digits this weekend, and lots of family stuff going on. Will try to get out asap, even if it's just to pop off a few mags.
Sorry this post is so long. I just figured since I was lucky this year, the least I could do was put up a long, babbling, boring post about my initial opinions[emoji23][emoji23]
Thanks again to CZ USA, and all the other sponsors. And thanks to the mods and members that make this such a great warm and friendly forum.
And...... I know they don't want any credit, but a special thank you to Mr. and Mrs. Armoredman. You guys put in a lot of extra effort into this forum. You deserve the credit you're given. [emoji106][emoji106][emoji847]
Ok, enough lovey dovey smooshing. Hope you all have a great weekend. [emoji23][emoji23]

I'm glad you got a free gun. That has to be a rare thing for anyone. Also glad you like the feel of it. No shooting here either: expected temp is 112*. Luckily almost no humidity. Appreciated your post, Thanks.

 8) Congrats again, and glad you're liking it! You will love shooting it. :) I understand about high temps on the range - was out the other day with the Scorpion and I could only stay on the line for about 70 rounds and had to pack it in - broke triple digits by 9AM. No indoors ranges? Wish I could open one where I am - I'd clean house.
Post all the long posts you want, amigo, we don't charge by the word. ;)

Since the pistol fits your hands well, you are going to really like it, I think.  Both the mag release and the slide release will loosen up with just a little use.  Mine sure did.

I was skeptical that the trigger was going to work very well for me, but it has.  I only have difficulty adjusting to it after shooting the Kadet and 75Bframe a bunch.  If I shoot the P-10C first, no problems.  The trigger pull on mine with no other changes than a Glock 4 lb firing pin spring is still just a little heavy for me, but it is smooth and breaks cleanly, so it is OK until CGW gets us some parts to play with.

Mine still hasn't malfunctioned even once, and that is with low powered ammo that usually won't cycle a new gun without putting in a reduced power recoil spring.  The accuracy potential is equal to the P-07, which means it is excellent.  I've already shot several 2" groups at 50 yards from a rest with open sights with my particular P-10C.  In other words, I'm very happy with my particular P-10C.

Thanks everyone.
Joe, 2" @ 50yards[emoji50], that does say a lot for this pistol.

Thanks everyone.

Full disclosure--not every group was 2" at 50 yards!!  But the limitation is my eyesight, not so much the pistol.    Why, I may go shoot it this morning.   :) :)

Sigh, finally got to take her out today. Been a pretty hectic 3 weeks.
90 rounds of 115gr. WWB down range with Zero issues. [emoji847]Trigger definitely feels different than my metal triggers. Not bad, just different.

Not much of a target shooter, so 6 clay pigeons and 5 golf balls at 7 yards with the first mag. Even impressed myself[emoji16].
I had lightly sanded a couple rows of the texture on the front strap. Think it's gtg now. Didn't hardly feel the other texture while firing. Probably couldn't get thru the callouses[emoji87]
Definitely need a holster, need to see if it's gonna be swapped with my Rami on and off.

My downfall was shooting my other pistols, which are cajunized. After that, I could feel the "new pistol" grit in the P10. So guess I'll have to maybe learn how to tear it down, and do some of the polishing I've been reading about. Sounds like a good way to spend a weekend this winter.

Actually though, about the only thing I'm thinking about changing in the near future are the sights, after I decide if it's gonna be for carry or range (probably go FO either way though for now). Of course, CGW and CZC are making goodies, sooooo[emoji48][emoji48][emoji48]

So, thanks again CZ USA, I know I've read about issues with this pistol, but as of now, I haven't seen any on mine. [emoji106]
