Appeals Court Rejects NRA Petition Against SF Gun Ban
« on: December 12, 2005, 07:51:48 PM »
Well, the marxist court in CA upheld it, (the SF gun ban). please don't say I told you so. As stated on many previous occassions, CA is a lost cause. We are better off spending our money where it will make a difference. I have in the past and will in the future, consider CA a foreign nation. The judge on the appeals court who upheld this illegal pre-emption of CA state law and who is a traitor against our republic and has grossly circumvented the Constitution. What can I say, will never go to CA and especially San Fran Sicko.

King:

Living less than 50 miles from the border of that thankless state, I avoid going over if at all possible.  I feel so sorry for our compadres that must endure this oppression.

I still can't believe that this is the state that elected Ronald Reagan as president.  It still baffles me.

who knows where the legal battle will head from here, but I have zero hope for california.  It seems that the people have allowed the insane legislature to turn the state into the land of oz.  Dorothy would be proud.

King: Here we go again! :)

I think you guys are premature: if you read the article carefully, the Cali appellate court simply rejected a petition to circumvent a trial court and go straight to an appellate court.  All the ruling means is that the case will (like almost every case) have to start in a trial court to hash out the factual questions.  If anyone is unhappy with the result there (and of course someone will be), the legal questions can then be taken up to the appellate court through the normal process.

So I wouldn't call the judges involved traitors to the Republic for what they did; apparently, all the court said was that there were some factual issues which should be determined in a trial court, because the normal role for an appellate court is only to deal with the theoretical issues once the facts have been determined.

I don't understand,  what about the issue of pre-emption.  Couldn't they simply overturn it based on law.!!!.  This is insane!.  They are making it more complicated than it is.  The ban is unconstitutional and illegal.  End of story.  They need to reverse it immediatly.

King,

You have to understand that as Christians we see everything in black and white.  We believe in absolutes.  Conservative Christians wil also be conservative in their politics.  Those who believe that the Bible has to be adjusted to meet today's circumstances will also believe that the constitution has to "evolve"  (that's a really dirty word to Christians) to meet today's setting.

I stand amazed at those who think we are inconsistent when we stand for the death penalty, but against abortion.  It just goes to show how little they understand a Christian world view.  The world did not understand Jesus and as we follow Him, it won't understand or like us either.
