I was just on sirius radio....

On the Patriot channel (that I usually tune in to hear opinions that I totally disagree with), they've got a nra news talk show... Had to chime in that gun ownership was not a red state/blue state issue because I'm a screaming liberal who prefers to pack ;)

Also made the point that when discussing the 1/3 of police chiefs who disagree with concealed carry laws, one has to keep in mind that a police chief is more of a politician than a police officer and that their opinions might reflect that.

Great show, though, and I haven't been on the radio since I won tickets to that concert that my parents wouldn't let me go to ;)   And it happens on a channel whose opinions usually just drive me crazy!

The host also spoke of 3 different mindsets: pro-gun, anti-gun, and ambivalent... He said that, as a gun owner, you could only get through to the ambivalent group.  I shared my opinion that, even though the non-gun people are pretty secure in their opinions, I've been able to sway a few using facts because many of their opinions are based in emotional knee-jerk reactions that are based in nothing but what they "percieve"... I've persuaded more than my share of "anti-gun" folks with facts and moved them into the "ambivalent" category ;)

Just thought I'd share!

Very cool!  (stinkin' liberal ;)  )

I think it's great for EVERYONE who values gun ownership to speak up whenever possible, especially if you're from a group that others wouldn't think of as being pro-RKBA.  Thank you, from a conservative.

"1/3 of police chiefs who disagree with concealed carry laws"

So 2/3 agree. Sounds like a majority to me.

Many police officers who are standing behind various presidents when they sign gun control, I mean, personal disarmament laws into effect, are actually ordered there. Rank and file is for civilian carry by a large majority. From informal surveys in my Dept, it is that way here, too.

King - It's completely worth it!  I got mine last Christmas and listen everyday.  The music channels have no commercials, but the talk channels do.  Usually for, ahem... male enhancement products.  But again, not nearly as many commercials as regular radio and much shorter.  I've become a big fan of NRA news w/ Cam & Company.  And the comedy channel makes my drives a little less boring.

You'd think those commercials would be a bit longer than normal.

Howdy King!

I have Sirius in my new Jeep Liberty (it came with it!) so I listen all the time.  Go to: Sirius Radio You'll be able to see all of their programming.

I listen to NRA news at noon (PST) when I have my lunch.  It's always interesting.  There's two conservative stations 144 and I think 145.  All Conservative All the Time!!

My first year of programming is "free" with the car and then I think it's something like $13 or so per month.  There a ton of stations for just about every musical taste.  Check it out!!

thats excellent, thanks for the feedback, certainly worth getting,  I am surprised I did not get it earlier.  It seems to be the wave of the future in replacing commercial radio.

Actually, the male enhancement ads are on the comedy channel.  I guess they figure that the less-than-blessed among us *must* have a sense of humor :D

I do listen to the liberal talk channels, as well as the conservative channels, and let me assure you that there is no lack of morons on either.
