CZ 75 Omega Trigger
« on: July 26, 2017, 08:33:58 PM »
I have a CZ 75 Omega that I purchased new. I have put several hundred rounds through it. I notice when I dry fire it either with a snap cap or rubber o ring under the hammer that the trigger has a noticeable amount of creep. When at the range with live rounds, I do not notice any creep at all before the shot breaks. I have paid particular attention to this. Is there something mechanical that would make the sear feel different with live ammunition? Thanks...

Not that i can think of. To my knowledge, once it is chambered, a live round of the same dimensions has no mechanical influence on a pistol. I believe that it is more likely that the difference is in your mind.  When i am handling a firearm with live ammunition i find it harder to analyze fine trigger dynamics. Now, different environments could have some effect, is this a possibility?

I am also interested to hear other forum members input on your question.

I have thought the same thing with other pistols. It is all in your mind. The recoil is playing a part in how you reprieve what is going on. Everything in the pistol is working mechanically the same.
Build a man a fire and he will be warm for day. Set a man on fire and he will be warm for the rest of his life.

I really like to dry fire a "new" pistol prior to firing it with ammo.  I like to get an idea of who well (or not) the trigger works.

After a few rounds of live ammo my finger stops just short of "bang".  As long as the trigger has a stopping point.  My Target Sport has a 1&3/4 lb. trigger pull and I feel that stopping point as the trigger moves to the rear.  My son has a CZ 75 SA that, for awhile, was iffy on that.  Sometimes I'd feel that stop as the trigger moved to the rear and sometimes I didn't.  That wasn't good, in my mind.

Maybe, when you shoot it at the range, your finger and mind are working together to move that trigger rearward to it's stopping point and you're just not aware of it because you are concentrating on the sights and target.
I just keep wasting time and money on other brands trying to find/make one shoot like my P07 and P09.  What is wrong with me?
