Unable to reinstall my safety on 75b
« on: December 29, 2017, 02:52:02 PM »
Hello

So I finally had some time to replace my safety spring with a DS Perlman extra power safety spring.

I successfully installed the new spring. I put the sear cage in so that the safety holes matched up.  I put the safety back in but it?s hitting a steel wall some somewhere and I can?t see what the hold up is.

It?s going all the way through right up to the right side of the frame but that last 2mm Movement towards the right will not budge.

My CZ is the basic CZ 75b.

Can anyone tell me what I could possibly be doing wrong?  I?ve been messing with this for two hours now.thanks.

Doesn't it have a safety detent like the SP-01? If so, it has to be pushed back before it will snap in the last bit.

So the metal piece connected to the safety spring needs to be pushed back with a tool manually as I?m attempting to fully seat the safety?

Correct, you need to press the safety detent on the left side of the frame towards the back of the frame so the safety can slide into place. The safety detent for the left side has the little fin looking thing on top. BTW left side of the frame is in reference if the muzzle end is facing away from you.

Watch assembly 5 and at about 1 minute and 30 seconds into the video it will get to the part you need help with. It's with the SP-01 but the part is the same for you.

Wow. Thanks so much for the replies. I was out last night and will try this today. I was on the right track but without really knowing, it's difficult to do. My CZ, (with all its parts) was placed into a freezer bag last night. I warned my wife to not attempt to use it for him defense last night.  haha

It is complete. My 75B is no longer a heap of dismantled step in a freezer bag thanks to everyone here!

The safety is MUCH better btw.... Highly recommended to anyone who has a mushy safety!

Glad it came back together for ya. There should be videos in that thread specific to the manual safety 75 B variants with the safety on just the left side, u just sent the first one that got you help. Enjoy your upgrade!
