P07 P09 9MM barrel in 40 S&W Slide

I am curious who has had success doing a 9mm barrel in a 40S&W slide on either P07 or 09 .  But I'm more interested in not what to do : But who has done this conversion and what your experiences are. Accuracy ,ease of fit etc . I was told by the Custom Shop I'd need mags and ejector. I see no difference in the ejector for either caliber. So assuming this is misinformation by CS that wasn't sure themselves

I would appreciate not getting opinions based on other guns. Please limit responses to those who have tried this with this specific weapon and what your results were Good or bad. Thanks

The shape/size of the chamber end of the barrel is a little different between the Polymer pistols in 9mm vs .40 - the 9mm barrel is a very loose fit in a .40 slide. For my P-09, I switch a complete upper (slide/barrel/recoil spring/guide rod) when swapping between the original .40 of the P-09 and 9mm.

(this is useful for demos, since not all location will prepare little bags of .40, but they always will be prepared for 9mm)

I agree with eastman....I have a 40 PO7 and bought a complete slide assembly from CZ when they had several used ones for sale...the fit of a 9mm barrel in a 40 slide just wouldn't work for me.

Plus it's real easy at the range to change out slides

As far as magazines my 40 mags work just fine with 9mm so I didn't have to buy 9mm mags

So when Cajun and CZC say a (mm in a 40 Slide works just fine they are mistaken? Or they just trying to sell me a barrel ?? Serious question

It's definitely doable in a 75 series and TS.  Maybe they misunderstood you wanted to do it on a P-series?

How could they misunderstand emails ?  My guess is they just guesses based on your comment . I did speak with someone else via this forum that says it works fine . But that wasn't my experience

I've got one of the old DUTY P07's in .40 S&W and I bought an old DUTY P07 9MM top end from CZ Custom probably 4, maybe 5 years ago when they had several.

I've "test" fit the 9MM barrel in the .40 S&W slide and the barrel hood is not the same size.  The 9MM barrel will be sloppy in the .40 S&W slide.  You can move it around with your finger tip.

The newer P07 model may be different, I don't have one in either caliber to do a "test" fit.

Rick53 re-read my post....I didn't say CZ or Cajun was mistaken....I said doing it that way wasn't for me....i just did not like how the 9mm fit the 40 slide...i have other guns that I have 9mm barrels that fit 40 slides, my M&P Shield is one example and the 9mm fits well in it.... I was just offering up a better alternative in my opinion....
