Savoy Leather Holster
« on: October 24, 2017, 04:15:55 PM »
So I ordered this online while I am anxiously waiting on my Boriqua Holsters.

I don?t want to come off wrong here, this is a nice holster and it appears well made.

I got it quickly so I imagine it was in stock.

But frankly, the fit and finish along with attention to detail of the Boriqua holsters is unsurpassed.

My major issue is the way the chosen design stamp has been stitched over as if it was too large to fit.

To most a minor issue, but it bugs me a little.

So IMO, if you can wait as he is incredibly busy the Boriqua holster stands tall.

Again, this Savoy is a nice piece, good quality, it fits the gun I ordered it for well and save for that one complaint I think it will be a good long term holster, but..........

Thank you so much for the kind words!!!!!

That is a shame. Perhaps they will refund or exchange it. I agree the stamp running under the stitches is unacceptable and wouldnt leave here. I am often harder on myself than others are and there are holsters started that sit in a pile of my rejects.

Its not that I have a ton of orders even though you guys have been keeping me good and busy .. Its that I am just a dude who enjoys leatherwork and so I try and make each and every one of them a little piece of wearable art work and enjoy the proccess. I am not a big business just knocking things out so I am a little slow. Add to that I sew it all by hand. I also spend a fair amount of time going back and forth with potential buyers to come to something they like which eats up time but is fun for me and I hope fun for everyone that has gotten something from me.

I have about 4 orders on deck now but .. I am slow. If I dont love it I do it over.

Someone just ordered blue   :-X

and I sweated for 4 days, did a bunch of tests and bought new materials until I could make something blue that I thought was handsome.

Here are two going out to you tomorrow Evolve The pix dont do them justice and I can not wait for you to get them!!!

Dragon scales in Light brown with a misting of dark brown on the edges and Cigar thread. I always try and pick expressive pieces of leather when using the light brown because it picks up the Leatheriness awful cool.
Each and every scale is individually airbrushed, meaning me 2 inches from the holster with my super duper glasses on for about 90 minutes. But I think its cool beans.

Its hard to pick up in the photo but I diluted royal blue to do the center portion which is coming out a little light in the pix. Then I did a halo with straight royal blue and then a halo on the straight royal blue with some royal blue and black mixed so that it progresses from darkened blue at the edge of the design area to light blue in the middle and then sewn with grey thread.
Yea maybe I am crazy but it looks awesome when you move it around in the light.

From looking at pics on their website it seems that stitching through the design is SOP for Savoy.

Didn't you notice that when you were picking a design?
I had the right to remain silent...

but not the ability.

I would disagree that this is SOP.

And if it is, it is IMO sub par.

Whether I noticed or not doesn?t change my opinion of the holster.

I wasn?t asking for a return, buyer beware, merely stating that to me it seems improper especially given the price.

Lastly, my post was equally a thumbs up to Boriqua Holsters whose design, quality and workmanship are again, IMO second to none for Holsters.
