I've got a transitional Israeli police surplus 75 - basically a "B" without the fps - that I just love. And, like most of my other broken-in CZs, it will auto-forward with a brisk mag insertion. In fact, it doesn't even have to be all that brisk. However, this "feature" has caused feeding issues on multiple occasions, and hosed me thoroughly at an IDPA match today. It was a short, 2 stage local match and on both stages the slide dropped early on the reload and didn't fully go into battery. I can't tell you the exact condition, as I cleared it reflexively and didn't stand there staring at it. I'm quite proud of that.
So, I'd like to find a way to prevent it from happening in future, and go back to using the slide release. Would a new slide stop spring maybe fix it? I just put a new slide stop in it, as the old one was failing to lock open - an SP-01 style since it was the only thing available at the time. At first, it wouldn't auto-forward, but after a few hundred rounds of break-in it started doing it... well, I certainly wouldn't call it "reliably". Let's say "consistently". Are those more prone to doing it than the regular style? That would be ironic if it were the case, since I find it easier to hit with my thumb than the regular 75 style.
