Do you have any pictures with an explanation of the circumstances upon which the failures occurred?

Mine won't drop from open bolt. However my factory mags drop from a locked back bolt just fine. Annoying but not really an "issue".

The drop out issue can be dealt with by rounding off a squared corner on the catch.

I can?t get pics to load but the small plastic retainer that secures  the back of the steel stamping broke off on two of mine.If you go on the Scorpion face book page there are several discussions with pics

Have any of you guys given any thought to the violence we inflict on the magazine feed lips when we smack a fresh magazines butt and send it slamming home then slap the charging handle to hammer the first round hard into the chamber?

This guy has. I think I enjoy this technique as much as anyone but...do you think we might be responsible for/creating the problem of diddled mag lips?

No! Being rough on the feedlips when inserting mags should have been equated into the engineering.

I actually agree with you. The scorpion is a defense of life tool by design. Whats more high stress than defense of life scenario?

We're a whole lot less likely to be patient and delicate under those circumstances. Magazine need to be up to the task.

Where's Mecgar when you need them?

The MA/PG mags are hard for me to load by hand after about 15 rounds. I can load the factory ones up all day long. I still wonder why the metal was not just overmolded with plastic.  On the flip side, I've yet to break any of the newer CZ mags.  That one I froze to -60, I still use it all the time..

What lead you to try cryogenic tempering on the plastic magazine?

I have not had issues with the factory mags.  My brother's Scorpion is a year older than mine.  He has has two factory mags with cracked lips.  Both were replaced by CZ.  I think they have fixed the issue with the newer magazines but you may have older inventory.  Just my thoughts.

My 2 mags are days old and came with my equally new Evo3. The have passed 50 rounds without surprise of any kind.

I'm only commenting on others troubles and hoping your right on the problem being fixed.

I have both stuffed full and they will remain that way unless the trigger is being pulled.

After I finish detailing the trigger assembly, I'll give the Scorpion lots of range time. I usually go several times a week. If a weakness remains, I'll find out pretty soon. Should be past 1k PDQ.

We get new test equipment in at work, so I was curious if the cold temperature would cause the mags to crack. It did not. It did crack some Glock mags (OE and Magpul), though. I was going to do the same to the MA and newer designed EVO mag as well just for the heck of it. The rounded corner EVO mag has been loaded in my safe for 1 yr without any issues, so time to torture it..
