new sphinx range report
« on: November 30, 2017, 06:43:11 PM »
Good evening,
Ok back from my first range session with my new sphinx sdp. So I shoot 150 rounds 50 124 fmj freedom, 50 147 fmj winchester and 50 115 fmj blazer. only 1 FTE on the blazer. Overall very flat shooting especially on the 147. The trigger was very quick on the single action the DA was manageable not sure about all the fuss. Pretty much right on target I need readers so I can see the target but the sights are a bit blurry. I am learning to shoot instinctively which I believe any self defense situation will be. But overall very very nice. Build quality is superb very tight and heavy.

Congrats, My SDP is on the way back to Kriss without a round being fired. I can?t wait for it to get back and see how it runs.

As for sights and target, I like clear sights and blurry target if both are not clear.
I have some eye problems and find I am more accurate with the above.
Instinctive or point shooting should be in every shooters tool box.

I have both the sub-compact and compact.  Out of the box both have great SA triggers and heavy DA triggers.  My reloads did not pass the plunk test so I worked up a load for the Sphinxs.  It took 500 - 600 rounds before they ran reliably.  Bear with them,  everyone that shoots either really likes them.

My Compact likes the 147 gr's too...dead on accurate with them...and softer shooting.

Just picked up a Subcompact and shot it for the first time today.  Accurate as hell, I found the DA trigger better than the compact and SA in both are perfect for me---clean break and excellent reset.

Best firearms I've ever owned, worth every penny...and I'm normally a 'budget buyer'!

I got mine back from Kriss today and all is well. I also picked up a Alpha last week and like it a lot. I normally carry one of my HKs but I feel that is about to change. I am really liking Sphinx and wish I didn?t so long to try one.
