Question abour custoom "long" firingpin

I have read a number of comments on this forum about installation of custom long firing pins.  I am not clear concerning what deficiency the installation of a long firing pin improves.  Also, does this installation negate the safety feature provided by a firing pin that is too short to touch both the primer and hammer at the same time.  In fact; I don't know if this is the case for the factory firing pin.  I may have assumed this is true.  Some knowledgeable person please explain it to me, or direct me to the answer.  Thanks

Extended firing pins can improve ignition and accelerate lock time, especially for use in competitive guns with lighter hammer springs.

Depending on the design and manufacturer, they work fine with fpb safeties, but some are recommended for competition only.  As well, on fpb CZ?s, a preparatory retaining pin may be recommended for use with extended firing pins.

*The extended firing pin with a reduced power firing pin spring allows for the use of a lighter main spring (hammer spring) and thereby reduce the double action trigger pull.

*dry firing with the OEM firing pin  Retaining pin and firing pin eventually destroys the firing pin Retaining pin IF an o-ring isn't placed between the hammer and firing pin and/or snap caps are not used. CGW makes a firing pin Retaining pin that can withstand dry firing, but the OEM firing pin will wear out that FPRP too. It just has an angle that will wear it out. But the CGW firing pin Retaining pin and their firing pin paired together can withstand dry fire.

  Also, does this installation negate the safety feature provided by a firing pin that is too short to touch both the primer and hammer at the same time.  In fact; I don't know if this is the case for the factory firing pin.  I may have assumed this is true.  Some knowledgeable person please explain it to me, or direct me to the answer.  Thanks

This is not the case with any of my CZ 75's with extended firing pins and the firing pin block, including my Rami.
