P-10c BUIS options help!
« on: January 26, 2018, 03:54:48 PM »
I want to have my p-10c milled by my local gunsmith for an RMR and back up iron sights.  I?m assuming they have to cut a new rear sight into the gun.  Does anyone know what they typically use on the p-10 for back up suppressor height sights?

CZ refers to them as High Metal Night Sights. I would think if you call CZ-USA they can give you the specifications of those sights.
CZ 10-PC 9mm (HBI Trigger, CGW Striker 3lb spring, GGI Stainless Guide Rod 15lb spring)
Sig Sauer P365 9mm
Sig Sauer P320 X Carry 9mm
Springfield 911 .380

Here's a thread that should help:
 http://www.czfirearms.us/index.php?topic=92669.0

I went the with the Ameriglo GL-408 Glock .360 rear. and a .290 Dawson FO front .  The front is just a tad tall.  CGW recommended a .300 so I thought I'd split the difference between earlan357's .265 and CGW's .300.  It's probably not likely you'll get an exact poa/poi with the BUIS, but as earlan357 says, close enough for backups.

Here is a video dealing with the subject:  https://youtu.be/AeeHJ5so2TE

You'll need to decide where to put the rear BUIS.  There are lots of opinions our there.  I went with the rear sight forward of the optic.  I think it's more personal preference than science.

Not exactly to your question but, unless your gunsmith has had a good bit of experience milling CZs for optics... you would be better served sending it off to Mark @ L&M Precision Gunworks, Bruce @ Primary Machine, or one of the other top tier companies that specialize in that exact thing.

Besides ruining your slide, a bad optic cut will lead to a damaged optic and seriously sour you on the whole concept...

Just food for thought.

+1 for Primary Machine. They have a nice setup and two different options, front and rear.

Most shops are going to cut the RMR pocket to the same depth as the factory dovetail, ~.185" deep and mill a Glock rear dovetail either in front or behind the optic.  Glock rear sights make sense because there are a ton of options and the footprint is small.  Here's mine from Jagerwerks.  Theirs doesn't cover up the extractor pin hole.

Below is the Ameriglo GL-408 rear with a Dawson .265" P09 front.  POI is about 1.5" high at 25 yards.  A .280" would be perfect but this was as close as they had in-stock.

It's like you read my mind before I even think of this stuff.  Gonna do this with one of my P-10C's ASAP.
