Ok, so I've installed the new CGW Short Reset Trigger in my P10C. First impressions are pretty positive. For starters, the install was fairly easy and straight forward. The trigger came with very clear instructions, and it went in almost as easily as the HBi. Two things that I will note about the install:
1. The trigger comes with a piece of tape that holds the center pivot and pivot return spring in place. It's very clear from the instructions to not remove this tape until after the trigger is installed. I had 0 problems with this, but if you plan on swapping this trigger around to another pistol that might be something to take note of.
2. My trigger pivot pin was a REALLY tight fit in the pivot hole for this trigger. To the point I had to drive the pin into the trigger while not connected to the trigger bar. I drove it in one side and all the way out the other. This made things loose enough for me to install the trigger to the trigger bar with just a small tap.
As far as feel goes, I love the shape of this trigger! It's got a great contour to it and the wider "dingus" is very comfortable. I'll know more when I shoot it, but from dry fire I'm very impressed!
For the reset, I used the provided allen key to adjust the set screw. You have to do this with the slide off and the trigger all the way to the back. I started off by adjusting the trigger, manually resetting it, and then checking for pretravel. Once I got it close, I put the slide one, dry fired, and made small adjustments from there. I got it to where the trigger resets just far forward enough so that the dingus doesn't drag on the frame as I go to pull the trigger. Hopefully you can kinda infer from the pics, but the fully reset trigger is just a bit forward of where it would be if I "rode" the trigger to reset after a shot.
Overall I'm very impressed with this trigger. It's not quite as flashy or unique looking as the flat HBI, but so far it feels more comfortable. As noted in another post, the HBI trigger gave me some issues where if conditions were just right, I would have to pull my trigger further to the back than normal. I never had a Ftf, but it did make for an unpleasant trigger pull when then trigger shoe is all the way to the rear. I haven't been able to replicate that with the stock trigger or the CGW yet.
I make another post when I get some rounds through it (hopefully this weekend). Let me know what you guys think!
