I was trying to decide if I wanted to keep the rear sight and put the Venom in front of it.  You are using the venom for the rear sight.  What if you want to take the Venom off for some reason?

On the P-07/09, I don't believe you can retain the existing rear sight dovetail, because they need that space to mill for the RDS. I believe they are able to mill a new dovetail in front of the RDS that uses a different sight; or possibly behind the optic if you use a smaller optic like a JPoint or Shield.

Best to double-check with Primary on those options, but that's what their website indicates. CZ Custom, CGW and others may have various BUIS combos as well, but you should plan on spending more $ for these options.

I was pleased that the stock SR tall tritium front iron, and the rear markings on Venom provide adequate co-witness BUIS, IMO.  Other Forum members have said you can get similar results with rear 'guide mark' on a Burris FF3.  This saved me a bunch of $$ in extra cost of sights and dovetail milling; and I'm really pleased with this combination 'package deal' all-in <$395 including milling, 6moa Venom, Cerakote, shipping to and from, and insurance. YMMV

That makes sense.  I am going to do the CGW Pro kit first.  Then I'll talk to them and decide.

Just got the P-09 slide back from Primary done in 'stainless' Cerakote. The P-07 is titanium Cerakote. However, I like the look of the black slide on the UG. Both have the Venom co-witness BUIS with the stock SR front sight.  Here's the image I promised of the Dynamic Duo:

I am tempted to put the slide from my Black P-07 with standard height sights on the UG P-07 and put the RDS on there and have the night sights on the black one.

Probably won't do that, LOL

The tall tritium sights on the Suppressor-ready UG are really quite good, I really liked them; and that's really not a bad idea to put that slide on the Black P-07. I don't see why they wouldn't be interchangeable, do you?

Then, you can mill the black standard slide, ditch the standard sights, set it up exactly the way you want with the BUIS you want, and put it on the UG frame.

Good thinking!
