Move to the desert, that helps. I've had no issues except Remington + hunting in rainstorm. That said, I recently picked up a plug in recharging dessicant just in case.

I live in the southern Appalachians and it's very moist here. (It rained last weekend for 3 days, and it's raining again this morning.) Even though the home is new construction with poured concrete walls, I run a dehumidifier in the basement all year long. Everyone I know does this; it's just part of living in the South. You either have a dehumidifier, or you have mold on the joists and sills. So the basement is kept at 60% RH.

I also oil everything that moves. Especially guns. If it doesn't move but needs protection (like reloading dies) then they get sprayed with resizing lubricant, such as Hornady One Shot or Dillon Case Lube which have a high wax content.

I had moisture in safe resulting in rust on factory magazines. Best prevention is lightly oil all metal parts and use a renewal dessicant.  There are also zerust vapor rust inhibitor tabs, but I haven't tries those yet

Same here. But My safe was seeing temperatures between 5C and 35C between winter and summer (top floor "attic" storage). It's been moved since.

Could also make your own desiccant packs with the crystal type cat litter and panty hose or thin socks.

My wife would complain too much about the packs making her hind quarters look too large.

A goldenrod or dessicant pack is cheap insurance for managing humidity in the safe.  I have a temp/humidity sensor in there also for a quick glance and peace of mind.   With the goldenrod safe internal temp is typically about a degree above room temp which helps avoid condensation during temperature swings.

Goldenrod works good. I also have a Liberty Safealert that monitors temp, humidity, and also tells me if the door is opened or the safe is moved. I can check it with my phone any time and get an automatic update every Monday.

I went with the cheap method and every time I received something with one of those descient packets in it, I threw it in the safe. There are probably about 20 of them in there right now and I've never had any rust issues.
