IWI Jericho trigger options
« on: July 24, 2017, 01:03:34 AM »
Hi all, new here but hope to learn lots as I get familiar with the forum.  I have a newer construction IWI Jericho full size steel frame in the proper 9mm, and after shooting it for a while along with a few other target grade handguns, I have come to the conclusion that the heavily curved crescent of the factory trigger just won't do.  Does anyone know if the CZ triggers will swap without issues into a Jericho?  Specifically I'm wondering about the aluminum SA factory custom trigger.  CZ Custom offers a couple of options, and I'm hoping one or more will work.

TIA!
Doug

Oh, and as a side note, I'm headed to Italy in a couple of weeks.  Anything I should look for over there that's not available here, like EAA or Tanfoglio parts?

I don't think CZ parts will work in a Jericho without getting creative. I know some Tanfoglio parts will work just fine.

The IWI Jericho Pistols are of modified Tanfoglio design and most internal parts exchange, which include triggers.  Were I you, I would shop at EAA Corp for some Triggers.

Please keep us updated if you find anything.  I'd also be interested in an updated trigger.

jwc,
Do you  know if the Tanfo thumb safeties will work in the Jericho?

I have to agree....the curve on some of the recent triggers is too tight for my fat fingers.   I can shoot it, but I don't like it....and I'm talking new Tanfoglios, not Jerichos.  The older Tanfo's had less curve on the triggers and suit me much better.  So I understand the desire to swap out the trigger.  Keep us posted when you find a solution.

Unfortunately, Manual Safeties do not interchange, as the Jericho/IWI Safety dimensions are different/smaller.

The PERFECT curvature was the PreB CZ - why CZ and others DON'T get it, I do not know,  Off the ridiculous recurve trigger for folks with SKINNY fingers.

   Doggonit!
I have CZs with thousands of rounds through them that don't have a single action trigger as sweet as this pistol with just a few rounds though it.  Does anyone know of anyone doing custom work on the Jericho?   I'd like to have this think tweaked, checkered front and back straps  welded, refinish, etc.
The stock safety does't suck, but as a fan of cocked and locked carry and the thumb high hold, it would be better with an extended safety.
I recently ordered an EAA / Tanfoglio Witness Extended Single Side Safety (EAA-102130) from Patriot Defense, as I wanted to upgrade the safety

I'm NOT a gunsmith, to be sure, and I got the safety 95% of the way into the gun, but the spring loaded/captured plunger appears to be preventing it from going all the way in.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems the spring inside the frame retains the safety, so I'm not sure what purpose the captured plunger serves;  there is no corresponding  recess in the Jericho frame.  Perhaps its only serves a function on DAO guns?
I'm considering grinding the plunger away and trying it.  Are my thoughts sound on this?
