75 B Omega Reset Issue
« on: May 09, 2018, 08:34:27 PM »
Quick question. I have a CZ 75B with the Omega trigger. i installed the CGW Ultra-light Defense trigger. it replaces the hammer spring, firing pin spring and the firing pin safety spring. The trigger pull is much nicer in DA mode, mode, about the same in SA mode but he reset in DA mode is almost non existent, meaning it's barely tactile. Not that it really matters since unless I have a cartridge that doesn't detonate, requiring a second strike of the DA trigger.

Is this normal?

Which hammer spring did you install? The blue spring is 13# and will light all primers. The black 11.5# spring will light off Winchester, federal and other soft primers only. Some had problems lighting off a hard primer such as CCI.

If you installed the black spring, then what you?re experiencing is normal. If you have the blue 13# spring installed, then it?s not normal.

The DA reset is less tactile the as you go down on the main spring weight.

I installed the blue spring and I would say the reset is there, but much less tactile.

That?s normal. However, I?m surprised you?re having light primer strikes with the blue 13# spring. What ammo or primer (if you?re reloading) are you using?

I'm not having light primer strikes with the blue, i was just speaking hypothetically about the reset and having to resort to using the DA two pulls in a row with this light reset. It's not a carry gun so I'm not really worried about the less than tactile feel of the reset.

Out of curiosity, is it the hammer spring of the drop safety that dictates the reset feel?

Thanks

You could put the stock safety spring back in and see if the reset feel improves while maintaining the lighter overall pull.
You might not prefer the "Ultra" in Ultra light.   :-\
