yesterday had a very good day -shooting for 10 mos.=at 10yds shot group on my last 7 shot the size of a teacup and and a half-good for me

today, not good day with a number of good shots, but lots of fliers...I had something concerned about, and sort of hurried -so maybe that was it. Don't like to feel like I am going backwards

Mental conditio can definitely affect performance - if you aren't focused, but distracted, performance will suffer.
Musashi:
- In all forms of strategy, it is necessary to maintain the combat stance in everyday life and to make your everyday stance your combat stance. (situational awareness).
- You can only fight the way you practice.
- If you do not control the enemy, the enemy will control you.

I've been shooting most of my life and can tell you for certain that there will be GOOD days and BAD days at the range. There I times I feel like the best shooter in the World, which I am not, and I usually post pictures of those groups online. There are times that I feel like the worst marksman ever, which I am not, and I usually throw those targets into the trash before any photographic evidence can be taken.

Just stick with it. The good groups will outnumber the bad with practice. And remember... A bad day at the range is better than a good day anywhere else.

Another thing is concentrate, too, on enjoying yourself. Not shooting the best groups? Switch to a different style, or a different target, or practice off hand, change it up, have some fun. Good way to relax and let the stresses of the day go bye bye.
