CZ 712 Gas Piston Missing

Bought a used CZ 712 ALS at Sportsmans Warehouse the other weekend. Looked barely used. Got it home and fired it, would not cycle the action at all. Took it apart and noticed the gas piston was missing. Went back to Sportsmans and they said tough luck, i signed a paper. So I contacted CZ and the rep just emailed me a generic part order form and said to fill it out and email someone else and I may get the part. Anyone else have experience with getting a part ordered like this from CZ? Is that part interchangable with other models I could maybe look for?

I have scoured the internets for this part and  o luck. I have sent in 2 order forms to CZ for this part and they have basically ignored me. Not liking this experience with Sportsmans or CZ right now.

Sent CZ 2 requests for the piston and both times it was ignored. No response at all from anyone. Terrible customer service...

Have you tried picking up a phone and talking to them? It is the New Year and they may be short staffed ATM.

Already done that twice. That's how I got the parts order form the first time. The customer service rep just told me to fill out a form and email it back to another person. The 2nd time I called, the rep said he would check why it's been a month since my first request and havent heard back. He said he would get back to me when he hears from the parts guy there at CZ. Again...no response back after that.

Then I guess I would persist and keep calling - and make sure I got the names of the people I spoke to so I could follow up if I did not get satisfaction. YMMV.

Many things in play here. The gun you bought used from a second hand dealer was also discontinued in 2014 so it's hard to say if parts from newer versions will fit your gun. The staff at CZ-USA have typically taken time of around the Christmas season so they are short staffed. I doubt they have your part in stock and may be trying to locate one for you and they don't always give real time updates on parts status. The supply chain problems are affecting every industry including firearms and will certainly cause shortages in parts that are imported.
Keep calling as suggested eventually it will get resolved.
For future reference you should research and inspect anything you buy used like this. If the seller won't let me do a basic take down of a used firearm I simply move on. I don't ever buy gun online either.
