Ultra lite and/or srs1 mod
« on: May 27, 2018, 11:47:59 PM »
So i am shopping at cajun, new cz pcr owner. I noticed the ultra lite and the srs1 kit shares a few part. I am interested in lightening the da pull and shorten the reset. Do i need to buy both? Is one will help with what i need more than the other?

Also, what else do you need? Any extra spring, starter punch, hammer pin?

How hard for a diy project?

Thanks!

If you are already buying the Ultra Lite, then you only need to add the lifter and a few of those bleep tiny lifter-spring.

Replacing hammer spring, FG spring, roll pin, etc...  etc should be easy considering you have done mods before...   replacing the lifter and the lifter-spring (to shorten the reset) is a COMPLETE different story...   not for faint of heart...  me included.   I have to ask a smith to install the lifter...  but that is just me.

You will LUV your PCR even more when it is all done.

Is this the correct lifter arm to reduce reset distance?

https://cajungunworks.com/product/14-oem-lifter/

In the description, it recommends the Lifter spring, i assume is this one:  https://cajungunworks.com/product/15-lifter-spring/

I believe i can do the ultra lite easily, and heard some horror story with the sear cage being a complete nightmare. Any video or tips i can educate myself first?

I am getting ready to do the same thing to my RAMI.  I haven't done anything to my 75c yet but plan to.

I spoke with David at CGW and he told me how they build kits.  They build the Ultra lite kit and then add a modified lifter arm to make the SRS kit.  The two kits do share common parts.  The part #14 is for the OEM part, however, for my RAMI, the lifter in the SRS kit is part #"14M".  14M is not on the web store.  So I recommend calling and talk with David or one of the others guys to get the right part.

Also the lifter spring I think they refer to is the "L Spring".

Free up some time to do the sear cage. It took me about 3 hours to put it back together. Order more than one lifter spring because they are tiny and could easily be lost. You may also need to order a slave pin. Polish everything out while it's apart. Good luck!
