^^^^This.
Checked that out this morning, it functioned as designed.
I ran over to the range and it performed perfectly. I sent 100 rds thru it.
I?m chalking this one up to a dirty FP and a worn pin.

That could very well be that case. My PCR had 3 thousand rnds through it before I did any mods and it's got over 10 thousand now and I've never pulled the fp in over 7 thousand now. Never had single light strike. Very strange for that to happen but it does happen. Maybe yours just had more gunk in the channel from the factory to start with and it finally caught up with it.
Some new guns that I've taken apart have had shavings in the firing pin channel.
I haven't touched hundreds of guns. 20 maybe and probably 2 or 3 of them had this.
This has been an issue on some guns. Failure to clean the channels out before assembly certainly shows a lack of QC oversight and has shown up more often the last few years.
My FP area didn?t display any metal shavings but just some misplaced dirty oil and soot from shooting.
When cleaning and lubing I always try to point the slide down to avoid any solvent or oil entering the FP .
I guess I wasn?t so diligent and some crud got in there
