Picked up a 97 BD, was love at first sight
« on: August 14, 2018, 10:25:13 PM »
I?ve always had a plan to add a 97 to the collection, as I love .45 in general for firearms, and have always enjoyed my 1911. I was planning on a P01 or a PCR being my next addition, and couldn?t decide which to go with, so went to a different LGS, that had two 97?s in stock. Right when I held it, I knew it was trouble.  O0 Talked myself into it in a matter of minutes. Got it out to the range today, and it is fantastic! It kicks a bit harder I feel like than my 1911, but man does it just feel like a CZ, and I love that. The grip angle and grips in general are vastly superior to my 1911 in my hands. Overall, very very happy with my purchase.

My first CZ purchase was in the spring. (Scorpion) In the past month, now I?ve added this, a Shadow 2, and my father has acquired a SP01 Tactical. Safe to say, I?m hooked.

We?re going tomorrow and taking out the SP01, the Shadow 2, and also the 1911 and the 97. I?m planning on giving the 1911 over to my father after our range trip.

Time to update the sig again!

Nice. I'm sort of in the market for one myself. Meaning, if I see one for a good price, I'll most likely nab it. Only problem is, they don't seem to be around, lol. She's a beauty.

Thank you! You definitely won?t be sorry when you find her.

Here?s a couple with the 1911 it will be replacing. I?ve always loved my Remington, but the CZ is just on a different level as far as ergonomics, shooting, attention to detail, and comfort. I also love the decocker, this is my first of them.

While I won't be giving up any of my 1911s (I still shoot 'em better than any other handgun), CZ has definitely shown me there are other steel framed service pistols that are a joy to shoot.

I?d keep the 1911, but I?m moving it and maybe one or two others to fill out my CZ set, still wanting to add a compact (PCR/75C/P01), and a TSO to the pile, and could use the safe real estate to accommodate the rest of the CZ family to be. The 1911?s are fantastic tho for sure, I?m sure some day I?ll own another, perhaps a DW or an older Para that I always wanted a decade or so back.

A shot of my three favorite pistols together. The FN (carry), the Shadow 2, and the 97 BD

Absolutely loving this 97. It?s dangerously close to my love for the S2. Can?t get enough of that decocker.

That is a super nice 3 gun collection you have there.
