Make sure you get a 20 caliber rod. The 22 cal. are to thick to get by the extractor, the 20 slides right by.

Fireman I dont know what you are looking at but the extractor on a 452 or 455 is on the bolt so there is no way a cleaning rod can come in contact with them.

Niether do I, LOL. If you remove the bolt you will see a piece of metal that a .22 rod can scrape on.

I've seen this tatement made more than once. Everywhere from Forums to Cleaning Rod/Jag/Brush supplies. All I can think of it's meant to be "Ejector", maybe?

I have seen it made before as well but there is nothing in the way of a cleaning rod in the area of the chamber that I can see on my 452 American. I will have a look at my 452 Varmint but the action should be identical.

Edit: maybe you are looking at the sear where it holds the bolt in at the back of the action???

On another note I know .22 cal cleaning rods are tight fit in the bore on a CZ 452 I just got a Pro Shot .22 cal rod for mine and it rubs the walls of the bore.

My .22 Rods will not fit in my 452- Grand Finale bore. Found out by accident when my Bore Scope wouldn't fit. So I tried the cleaning rod to see and it won't go in the muzzle. I've now got two .20 Caliber rods on order.

I use a .17 rod specifically for my 455 ...the OTIS small breech .22 bore brush is a direct fit (5x40 thread)

Do not inset a cleaning rod at the muzzle you are taking a big risk by doing so, If you damage the crown of the muzzle it will affect your accuracy always start at the chamber and push out through the muzzle. the only problem you will run into with .20 cal rods is they use a different thread size so .22 cal brushes and jags will not fit.

Yes, I know that. I was looking to see if it would work at all. Not so. Do have a pair of .20 cal rods on the way. AND supply of jags and brushes for .22 cal.

Thanks for the comment though. Appreciate anyone offering help and sage advice.

Let us know how you make out and what you ordered that works and dose not work as this is a common problem all us CZ .22 shooters have.

Thanks

Will do. It may be another 2 - 3 weeks before I get them. Ivy told me they were about a month behind in production when I last talked with them. LOL, typical for me, I'm "chomping at the bit" to put some rounds through that little rifle and more-or-less on hold for the time being.

Alright, here we go. I got in a Bore Guide from Jeff at M.Werks http://www.mwerksllc.com/ and it one nice guide. Had to borrow a rod to check, and a .20 Cal clears easily. Made me think, and sure enough, my old B&M .22 Cal rod clears everything in the action too. However, it will not fit in the bore. Can't wait for my Ivy Rods to get here.

Now, to get back to the range!

Yes...it's the ejector that fouls up the works. ;)
