That's a nice looking rifle, for the range or for small game hunting. Maybe a bit heavy, but the more you carry/handle it, the less you'll notice the weight.
I'll bet it's no more than a lot of people carry for a few days every deer season.
.22's are funny (like just about everything else gun wise). Buy several different boxes of solids and hollow points, different brands, different bullet weights and see what it shoots the best groups with.
When I was younger and squirrel hunting was a big thing for me I tried all the "new" stuff. Stingers, Yellow Jackets, etc. In the end, the best groups my Winchester M52B and my Ruger Mk1 5.5" shot were with Remington Thunderbolts. The cheapest ammo around shot better than anything else. My buddy bought a high dollar High Standard target pistol and had to buy Eley match ammo to complete with my $150 Ruger and $0.02 a round Thunderbolts. Even then, the High Standard had to be field stripped and wiped clean/lubed every couple of boxes or it would start malfunctioning.
I miss those days of going shooting with friends on an open range and having fun shooting targets we chose for the challenge vs. paper stapled to a piece of cardboard or wood (flower, dead limb on a tree/bush, grass hopper, small rock on a big rock, old shotgun empties, etc., etc., etc.) That's some fun shooting.
