Finally Got This Out Of Lay-away "Jail"

Finally got this out of layaway! (photo #1)
Rock Island Armory 1911A1 10mm
[/size]
Put 50 rounds of Sig Sauer Elite 10mm 180grn FMJ (1250 fps, 624 ft/lbs) through it the next day. I did not have the mag loaded beforehand.
I field-stripped, cleaned, and lubricated it
?b
efore the trip to the range
On the 49th shot, photo #2 happened! (that's round # 50 "saluting!")
Out of the 50 rounds fired I had at least 7 or 8 Failure to feeds at random times where it looked like the rounds were getting caught up on the edge of the feed ramp. Only used the one factory mag that came with the gun.
While I was packing up to leave I noticed the marks near the ejection port & took photo #3.
What say you? Just part of the normal break-in issues or might there be a problem? This Rock is the most expensive handgun I have ($600+ for it). My other 3 handguns (less expensive) have had zero malfunctions even when new. Looking for words of advice / consolation.

T'ain't normal, Magee. Have a gunsmith look at it. I think it just needs the extractor tweaked, but I'm not a gun smith.

Definitely an irregular ejection pattern. If new, send it back to RIA.. If used, take to a gunsmith, as has been suggested.
Best regards.

Not normal at all. Even if you bought it used RIA will take care of it for you. Absolutely great customer service - I suggest you shoot them an email.
