Sear pin blocked? Help removing sear cage.
« on: August 01, 2020, 11:17:30 PM »
I recently purchased a PCR, and as I do with most of my pistols, I read and watched several resources on disassembly so I could polish the trigger parts. But after I removed the decocker, the end of the pin that must be tapped out to remove the sear cage is blocked by a small disc, something I have not seen in any of the pictures or videos. Is this a new meds change, or did I miss something? How do I remove the sear cage on my new '20 model PCR? Thanks.

The Sear Pin Retaining Washer is present on the aluminum framed CZ 75 variant decocker models (PCR, P-01, RAMI). It has a helpful hole in the center so that you can get a hold of it. Using a pointed metal probe it can be slid to the left and then removed. It serves as the left side sear cage pin stop.

Thanks. I had tried to move it, but I didn't want to force things without knowing the proper method. I'll try again.

Ok, I got it out, using a pointy pick, but it was very tight and i gouged up the aluminum behind the disc pretty bad. No biggy, as you can't even see that when the disc is in place, but that makes me think I did something wrong.

When they are stubborn you can use a small punch and hammer to tap the washer out. Bracing the frame well can help make the operation go more smoothly. Some of the more intricate operations benefit from practice as well.

Mountaindew! maybe a quick polish with some fine grit sandpaper on both sides of the disc will help in the future.

You want the disk to fit snug as it holds the sear cage pin in place. They are easy to remove once you've done it a time or two.
