Mec-Gar 10 Rd Magazine Drops the Slide - What???

I just got 4 Mec-Gar 10 round magazines for my SP-01. Load 'em up and insert with the slide back, slapped the mag in and it dropped the slide. Stock magazines don't do this. Insert the Mec-Gar gently and the slide stays back.

Disclaimer:  I'm new to this pistol and haven't got everything figured out yet.

Any guesses as to what is going on?

It's a "feature".  I bet if you slam home the oem mags it will do the same.

I would prefer they all do it.  Some require less effort than others to make happen.

As stated above this is quite common in CZ75 variant pistols. As far as i have gathered the source of the slide automatically going forward is a product of how the slide stop engages with the slide stop notch in the slide. This can be adjusted but most folks including my self choose to leave it alone.

It's  a problem training mags to do that on purpose. Wish I knew how.

When i had my Cz75 SA.  It would happen during reloads in IDPA matches, liked the feature but surprised me at first.  Couldn't replicate it in my SP01.  At the time all i had were the CZ 10 round mags none of the Mecgar versions with AFC coatings.  I learned later on like it was mentioned previously it was the how the slide stop engaged the mag/round. 

Didn't mind it as long as the pistol didn't go bang when i slammed the mag in.  That would be a no no lol
