Flash Can Adapter
« on: September 19, 2018, 03:39:07 PM »
I have the pistol with flash can model. I ordered a Octane 45 suppressor and was thinking about using a 3 lug attachment since it will be recessed in the hand guard. Is there 3 lug adapter that I can put on the flash can when I?m not shooting suppressed or am I better off going direct thread?

Buy your 3 lug adapter you want and just make an adapter/flash can that fits your 3 luh mount

I mount an Octane 45 direct thread to my gen 1 Scorpion.  Nothing against 3-lug but because I move the can across a few hosts it was more simple for me to go direct thread.

I?m actually thinking of going 3 lug on all my guns. My QD suppressor is easier than direct thread. But direct thread is cheaper. No lugs and QD.
As for a threaded 3 lug, you may be able to order one from Zenith Firearms. My Z5P came  with a threaded 3 lug that I am actually thinking of installing on my Scorpion for the purpose of using my flash can when not shooting suppressed.

Go to https://sdtacticalarms.com/SDTA-pig-cover_p_72.html and select the B size.
You can use a 3 lug and still be able to swap between host. You just need different adapters. Sico's 3 lug and booster are the same thread.

Are you referring to something like this?

If so does the thread protector have to be installed when using the 3 lug mount? That could prove difficult were it would be recessed in the carbine length hand guard.

Yes exactly. I?ve been searching all over for that. Thanks. I can use my suppressor with or without the thread protector. And installing it is no different. Can be with or without thread protector.
