Long frame CZ24
« on: October 28, 2019, 02:34:25 PM »
Did this pistol ever have a separate designation or was it always just a 24?

I see that no one else has responded to you.

How long is the frame on the one that you're referring to?

I was doing some research for someone who had mistakenly thought he had a CZ26 (turned out to be a CZ24 made in 1926) and just finished going through my reference books.

Reading the 24/27 section, it looks like there was a version (no separate designation) that was fitted with an arm brace as well as some that were sold to Turkey that had a larger frame.

This one has a 9 round magazine instead of 8.  Has a 4 digit S/N, 2XXX w/ matching mag.  Marked 'C up arrow Z' on side plate and magazine, 'CZ circle, 30' on side of slide, grip is smooth wood w/no markings.

I believe that is the batch of 9-round vz24 pistols sold to Lithuania

this was a serial number block between approx. 1-3100 and dated between 1929-1931.
it is on page 29 in "Know Your Czechoslovakian Pistol" by Berger

I guess it's just a vz24 then.

Thanks.
