Why Oh Why did I wait so long?????
« on: August 10, 2018, 04:27:17 PM »
I?ve been shooting for quite a few years now and never before considered owning a CZ. I took the plunge last weekend and got a 75 omega and a 75 compact..... I?m in Love!!!! The way they fill your hands, the natural way they point and the functionality..... I feel like I?ve deprived myself of one simple pleasure that brings joy to your life. I didn?t take any pictures of the targets but I am impressed with the accuracy..... just wish I was younger....
Thanks for letting me rant a little

I know how you feel.

I got my first Cz about 6 or 7 years ago.  Prior to that I'd gone through a list of modern (and a couple old) designs.  I still have all of them and shoot none of them.  Had I been buying CZ's all those years I'd have seven more CZ's than I currently have.  Nothing like them.

People say stuff like:

Pretty good gun for the money.
Pretty reliable.
Pretty accurate.

Well, none of those other brands have shown to be as good as my best CZ's and most are worse than the average CZ's.

My most accurate semi-auto pistol is a CZ.

The semi-auto that really seems to fit my hand like it was made just for me is a CZ.

The CZ's are more reliable than some of those other brands and as reliable as any of the best of them.

Since I bought that first CZ 6 or 7 years ago I've only bought one non-CZ pistol.  A couple months back I bought an M&P .380 EZ.  I didn't even get to shoot it before I found a safety recall on them and had to contact S&W to ship it back for repairs.  When I got it back and took it to the range the groups were on the paper, but pretty poor compared to my EDC CZ's.

You did good.  However, you'll find they reproduce.  My one turned into two.  Two into three.  Three into four, etc., etc., etc.
I just keep wasting time and money on other brands trying to find/make one shoot like my P07 and P09.  What is wrong with me?

welcome,

some people live on the end of town or didnt get the email.

some people are closed minded about other things and when it comes to commie toys its a no brainer.  If its commie, no touchy and not over my dead body.  Also some people are fixated on size. Size matters right?  So unless the caliber starts what a 4 and ends with a 5, its not a real gun for a real man.  9 sillymeter are toys for wimps...on and on and on.

then you have the people that feel that humans are dumb as dirt.  Why do you need a DA in a automatic?  If the booolit doesnt go bang the first time do you think it will go bang the second time or the 3rd time????  Or you need to have a gun were the first shot is the same as the 2nd and 3rd shot until the end.

When i got into guns many many years ago, my friend let me shoot his 1911 and BHP and some others.  I didnt know anything about guns back then, but i sure did get hooked.  So i read and starting buying and and shooting what i could at that time.  I read about the CZ but at that time, they were like hens teeth and the unicorn.  So once i was able to find and buy one it was a no brainer and i was hooked from then on.

I let my friends shoot them when we would shoot, but most didnt care for CZs.  You get various reasons such as its a 9, or the slide is too small to grip and rack...ect.

when it comes down to it, you never know until you try.  If you like it, you like it, if you dont, you dont. Different strokes for different folks

Personally, i dont care to have things shoved down my throat so i prefer to take things at my own pace and to figure things out on my own.  It may cost me more money in the long run, but at least i learn from my hands on experience.  Some people live by OPO and thats fine for them, but again, for me, i try to do the testing and learning myself.

Thanks for the reply's and bang bang I agree with you. I have a few S&W's, rugers etc. etc. The reason I got the CZ's was because of the research I did, yes they handle different and the controls take a little getting use to but the feel and the control I feel with these are so much better than my carry gun now.

I have never been that follower that just accepts the whatever everyone else needs to have. With the ammunition choices today the 9mm is more than a viable caliber and I would rather have something I can control.

I look forward to learning more about these weapons and gun brokers got a 30 anniversary up for sale that looking pretty nice.....

Nice pick ups, there. The 75 Compact is my EDC. I find my 75B almost as much fun to shoot at the range as my 1911s (almost). My P-07 Duty is the only plastic gun I own, or ever will, and it's a friggin' laser beam. I also have one of their limited run 1911A1s from '15, which were assembled by DW. All of them quality firearms. There is still a pervasive attitude that Eastern European manufacturing is inferior to American/Western European. CZ proves otherwise. IMHO, CZs are of a quality that Colt wishes it could produce consistently. I also feel there are a fair number of people who believe steel frames and hammers are a quaint throwback to a bygone era, and if you wanna hang wit da cool kids, you gotta go plastic and striker. That's fine, but I'm proud to be a part of one of the best kept secrets in the firearm world. I've acquired four of them in the last three years, and they all see regular range time. They'll never replace the 1911 as my favorite hand gun, but they make a bleep fine mistress on the side.

Well, I got them both to the range today and I feed them brass, aluminum and steel and they just ate the all!!!!! Not one problem with feeding or extraction but I have to admit I?ve got some learning to do when it comes to the DA triggers. I have a couple revolvers but usual shot them SA, the omega I got has the decocker so starting out with that first pull is taking a little to get use too but the way they shoot and the felt recoil (nothing) is already making them my favorite.

I?ve got a lot of strikers and 1911?s, which I love but I see more CZ?s coming into the fold soon. It?s a good thing I?ve got a lady that understands and shoots with me.

Now, I just noticed a SP-01 at a reasonable price... Hummmmmm

CZ's do indeed seem to fit so many people just right.
More folks need to check them out.

Only "bad" thing about CZs: They're addictive! I've bought 4 of them in less than 2 years! Absolutely my favorite handguns at this point...never had a malfunction with any of them.

Ha! I guess I'm lucky, by being in the right place at the right time ("Joe's Best Bet Gun & Pawn") in Charleston, SC, back in the late 80's, I picked up a Bauska Arms Import CZ75, and have had one off and on, ever since. I am really aching for a higher end one these days, an Accu-...something. We'll see...

I too have obviously been living under a rock or something because I just recently found the CZ 75 B SA and bought one. I own several other brands, some expensive, and was blown away by the feel and accuracy of this pistol. I  will definitely be getting a few more in the near future. Great pistol!!

I bought a CZ75 SA 9MM a couple years ago.  Got it home, took pictures, my youngest son shot it, next thing I know he's paying me in monthly installments so it can be his.  We added a CGW race hammer and adjustable sear, a CGW match bushing, installed night sights on it, he put a CZ straight trigger in it and removed the firing pin block, too.  Trigger pull is around 2&1/4 lbs. now (I think).  We go to the range and he takes his P07 9MM.  He leaves his Beretta 90-Two at home ( few years back that Beretta was THE PISTOL to own, according to him).  He shoots the P07 for a magazine or two and puts it down and spends the rest of the range session shooting small groups with the CZ75 SA.  I mention shooting the P07 and he replies, "But dad, I just like shooting small groups." and keeps on shooting the CZ75 SA.

If I ever run across one in .40 S&W I might "have" to buy it.
I just keep wasting time and money on other brands trying to find/make one shoot like my P07 and P09.  What is wrong with me?
