On the drive from Hohhot to Ordos, parts of the landscape reminded me of Wyoming. Moderate elevation steppes (3500-4000' above sea level and a lot of scrub vegetation). Certainly better air quality than Shanghai.

For the food in that area, you better like lamb/mutton since you can expect to see some form of it 3 meals per day. The shumai (steamed dumplings filled with lamb, scallions and ginger) were fantastic, with the best coming from a little 5 table restaurant a 30 minute walk from our hotel (the driver would drop us off there on the way back from the refinery each evening).

And apparently Slovakia became Slovokia. Sloppy article. CZ-USA is in Kansas City, Kansas, not the neighboring, better known Missouri city.

They're well known on the internet but not in the general public, or at least among non-competition people. Only a few LGS carry much of their stuff.
