Does Your Walmart have Reloading Supplies?
« on: November 28, 2018, 11:02:31 PM »
Thought this was strange... for this type store...
I moved into a smaller town a few months ago, sub 10K population. But there is a 24hour Super Wally World near by...
Of course I went to the sporting section to see what the ammo situation was. Plenty of everything including 22LR. Real surprise was seeing reloading supplies.

Sorry, had to remove the list of firearms due to server overload. I hope you now have a more pleasant experience on this forum.

It?s my understanding that it?s up to the manager to decide what to carry.  In rural areas it?s fairly common that they sell reloading supplies.  None of the stores near me carry them.  Some sell guns and some don?t.

I moved from a 150k population city with 2 Walmarts within 5 miles of each other. One carried guns but no reloading supplies, the other closer to the city did not.

While not a huge fan of the store, it's is nice to have something available after hours if a midnight reloading session runs short. But during hours I do have a gun shop 2 blocks away. It is different here in this smaller town but I do like it.

Had a Cabela's 35min away , but it's now about 1.5 hours. Not the same sales on reloading components since Bass pro shop sistered up. Not worth the trip.

The only one I've seen with reloading supplies was on the outskirts of Charleston, WV.  We stopped on our way back from Camp Perry/CMP North Store in March or April of 2006 and picked up some heavy duty cleaning supplies (carb. cleaner, bore cleaner, brushes, patches, etc.) to clean up the four CMP M1 Garands we'd bought earlier that day.  That store had all kinds of reloading supplies on the shelves.

I wish the Walmart closest to me carried that stuff.  The prices in your pictures show bullets about $4 to $5 a box cheaper than the local gun stores around here.

Oh, we cleaned the M1's up real well Sunday morning, lubed them up, went up to the little range above the garden and sighted them in at 25 yds.  Probably the last time my brother or cousin every detail stripped theirs and cleaned/lubed them.  A few years later my cousin brought his to the range and it was so dry it wouldn't operate and had the beginning of patches of rust here and there.  Shame people won't take care of stuff.
I just keep wasting time and money on other brands trying to find/make one shoot like my P07 and P09.  What is wrong with me?

Not at mine, but there's not a gun store within 20 miles of my house either. If they did, the one thing I would look forward to buying at Walmart prices would be lead shot.

The closest Walmart, to me, barely has any ammo. There are two others a little farther away that do a better job.

No reloading supplies.
I had the right to remain silent...

but not the ability.

The nearest Wal-Mart to me is 65 miles away, and I have more reloading components than they do.  And no Wal-Martians to put up with.........

Not here in the communist state of Massachusetts. Lucky they even sell ammo.

Can I ask where you live? What state anyway?

Oddly enouigh in this state, know for firearms freedoms...I've never seen a single Wally World with reloading supplies. I second the price call - I'd love to buy XTPs that cheap here.

There are several Wal-Marts in Evansville, IN.  No reloading supplies, and only minimal firearms, ammunition, cleaning supplies, etc.  One county over (a more rural county), the Boonville, IN super-center has many more firearms for sale and ammunition choices, but I don't recall reloading components.  It is across the highway (more or less) from a decent-sized gun store, so this may be the reason that it doesn't carry even more.
