vz 27 parts help
« on: November 30, 2018, 09:14:14 PM »
I bought a WWII occupation era vz 27 off of GunBroker (the joys of a Type 03 FFL). Unfortunately it is missing a piece, and Numrich is out of them.

The safety works for its purpose, but does not pop up when the button is pressed. There should be a spring inside to actuate it, but mine doesn't have one.

On the Numrich site, they call the spring the Safety & Trigger Bar Spring. Is it required for the pistol to fire or only to make the safety work normally (e.g. actually be useful)?

If anyone has one, is it possible to get dimensions? If I know the size spring I am looking for, I might be able to find a substitute.

just gave it a basic cleaning and lube - this pistol has 2.5-3# trigger. Functions with snap caps, so I am going to give it a try (maybe even at tomorrow's CZ day demo)

One of my saved searches on Gunbroker is for CZ parts.

There are quite few on there right now for the CZ 27, including one for the trigger bar assembly.

Though I don't see the spring that you talk about, most of these postings are by a "flyingwoof", so you might message him. If he has so many CZ 27 parts for sale, he just might have the spring you seek. Other posters with CZ 27 parts are "carls-gunparts" and "woodside".

Numrich lists the same part for both the vz 24 and the vz 27, so I'll search a bit for both. I guess the vz 24 could loan the 27 a spring for a couple of days.

Interestingly, the pre-war vz 24 has a small screw securing the side plate. The late war 27 doesn't have one for its stamped sideplate.

What Numrich called the "Trigger Bar & Safety spring" appears to be the same spring that Wolff calls the "sear spring". Have a Wolff kit in transit.
