Looking for 124/5 Flat Point Bullet

I prefer shooting flat point bullets for USPSA.   I'm happy with the 147's I've used.   I can usually load to 1.12 to 1.13 for OAL.   These run fine.   But the bullets are a penny a round more expensive than 124/5s.    I've tried a few 124/5s, Acme, Precision, and SNS, for my Shadows.   Loading as long as I can, with the 124/5 flat point ammo, I have occasional feeding problems.

My Acme bullets 122 FP, loaded to 1.04, run all day in my P-07 and a couple S&W striker guns I shoot regularly.   In my Shadow, maybe one fail to feed in a 200 round match.

Does anyone have a 124/5 (or even down to 120) bullet that can load out to greater than 1.10 in a Shadow.   I'd rather not ream barrels.

Not exactly flat nose, but flattish ? i?ve loaded the 125 conical nose from SNS out to 1.120 in my shadow.

I've loaded a thousand of these bullets for a Shadow 2 @ 1.07" (4.05 gr. Sport Pistol). Excellent accuracy and function in the gun. Not sure why you want to load longer.

Smitty, I have a vague recollection of you shooting Blues.   Those dont do well in my Shadow, but that isnt everyone.  Have you been shooting the Blue 147?  If so, Blue has 125gr TCG.   The SNS 125 CN, the batch I bought, were sized. 3555 - - the same as Blue.

I am not aware of a 124/125 TCFP from one of the major manufacturers other than Blue.  MBC has a 125gr SWC.  I had to seat it. 310 into the case.

Are you sure you cant load those ACME 122gr FP any longer than 1.04?  That seems crazy short. Makes me wonder if you are pushtesting, and the bullet is dragging on the leade a d going into the case further than necessary.

I moved over to Acme.  When my first Shadow got to 30k rounds, groups started opening up.  The .356 Acmes are more accurate than the Blues in an old barrel.  The Acme 147 loads 10 mils  longer than Blue 147s and the bullets are shorter.  That eliminates problems with loading headstamps where the case wall is thick closer to the mouth.

I've not found a flat point 124/5 I can load longer than 1.04.  I don't think it's a technique problem as I get reasonable results with 147s.

I?ve been shooting RMR truncated flat point bullets for my shadow 2 and TSO with great results. I load them at 1.102-1.104 OAL with 4.1-4.2 Gr of Winchester 231.

Been using the Berry's 124 grain Flat Points sine the late 1990's and have been very very happy with them.
Generally, I buy them from TJ Conevera, as they are local to me and I just pick them up, rather than bother to have them shipped.

Currently, they stock a Hollow Based Flat Point and my favorite plain based Flat Point is not there.
I do plan to try the Hollow based Flat Point, sometime soon, and already have some in my Loading Room.

I recently helped out a guy getting tumbling with Precision Bullets, and it turned out they were undersized for his barrel - - I think they were coming in under .356.

They are great bullets, but if there are accuracy issues with under-sized Blues, I would fear the same with Precision.

I like the Blue Bullets 125gr TC that is flatish.  With the truncated cone it allows me to load longer than would otherwise be possible with my CZ75.

I've used a box or two of the 124gr SWC from Missouri Bullet Co. They feed great in my SP01, but they only load out to 1.080". These are 0.356" dia.

They are great bullets, but if there are accuracy issues with under-sized Blues, I would fear the same with Precision.

I have used a lot of Precision and they have always been .356 so perhaps it was a one of situation.  I just wish they made a 135 gr. bullet.
