Picked up a CZ-40B
« on: February 17, 2019, 05:11:00 PM »
...honestly, never heard of one until I saw it in the used gun section of a local gun store.  I instantly liked the 1911ish grip angle, almost looked like a S&W series.  I decided to do some research on it and picked it up the next day.  Got to the range but only able to put around 150 rounds down range and like your typical CZ, worked great.  It came with its original box and paperwork.  Looks like it was made in 2001.

Gratz on your new CZ! An interesting CZ model indeed. Here is a good video that covers some of the history of this model.

Great gun.   I had one when they first came out.  Back then, however, I was not all that impressed with .40 S&W, and eventually traded it away.  (I think I paid $275 for mine -- I'd love to find one fyr less than $500, now.)   My 40B  shot better in my hands than any .40 I ever owned  until recently.  (I've now got a couple of FNS-40s that I like about as much.)

I'd still like to find a CZ-40B, but whenever I find them, they've just been sold, or I don't have the money.

Keep in mind, too, that you can use regular .40 CZ magazine  -- they won't look quite right because of a thinner baseplate, but they function well.  (You may have trouble finding the CZ-40B baseplates -- but you don't have to have them. )

You did well.
