I think the Phantom is an ergonomic dream. My P-07 is just fair.
No doubt the Phantom feels better in the hand because it retains the classic CZ grip. MANY 'expert' reviewers dont know CZ and say it maintains the CZ 75 grip. Wrong. The P series is slimmer like a 1911, and needs more traction. (which can be remedied. For me, the thing just plan locks into my hands well at speed.
BUT... for me and many others the P07 and P09 just plain shoot well. If you have a proper grip, the P series can be good and the P07 is excellent. Ergonomics is not the same as feel while holding. It includes drawing, getting on target, speed, ease to get to controls, and ability to HELP you deliver follow up shots at speed.
I looked at a review the other day that noted the Phantom recoil was much more than the P series. I believe it, because when I handle a phantom, the recoil spring is very weak. Still need to shoot one.
The problem with CZs is that most gun ranges have limited selection when it comes to CZ and it takes about 500 rounds to know anything about a gun.
Yeah I was, and still am, a Glock nut. I shoot them well so I haven't had a reason to get into other guns. Sold all my Sigs and just have a boat load of Glocks. That all went out the window when I got into CZ pistols. Love the steel and poly framed guns. The Phantom...hated it until I held in my hand. Bought it on the spot. P-09...ugly and wouldn't ever think of owning one. Looked cheap, again, held one and had to have it. 8 or 9 CZ's later and they're just awesome and soooo underrated. But the only one that felt weird to me is the P-07 lol. But still an awesome gun.
