Everyone in my family has at least one CZ, some of us have more than one.
Of all those, I've only polished the feed ramp on one. The Urban Gray P01 (came with a black coating on the barrel and feed ramp) would sometimes fail to feed my hollow points. The bullet would hit the ramp and just stop. I could smack the back of the slide and it would go ahead and chamber/fire/eject normally.
While only a now and then thing, it was still unacceptable. I stopped carrying that gun.
One day, while cleaning it I used a fingernail to test the feed ramp by sliding the end of the nail up/down the feed ramp. About half way up my finger nail would hit a spot I could feel and then continue moving. Back and forth and I continued to feel it. I couldn't see it, but I could feel it. I put on another pair of glasses and still couldn't see it.
I took the barrel to the garage, got the Dremel out and used a fine sanding drum to remove the black coating and a small amount of metal. Then I used a felt polishing wheel/drum and some lapping compound to polish the feed ramp surface to a mirror like finish. Wiped it off to remove any remnants of the lapping compound, lubed it up and put it back together.
Not a single failure to feed since.
If you have issues with bullets hanging up on the feed ramp, then polish. If not, just run it. But, if polishing makes you feel better, then do it. Just go slow. Don't try to alter the angle of the feed ramp, just polish what you have. The feed ramp is steel, the bullets are lead or copper jacketed/plated or coated (a type of paint) and just not hard/abrasive enough to damage the feed ramp steel. You may see some residue on the feed ramp from the bullets hitting them and then sliding up them but it will wipe/brush off during cleaning.
