Full size mags in PCR
« on: November 12, 2018, 04:32:11 PM »
Hello everyone - Looking to use full size mags in a PCR. Does anyone make a collar (or anything similar) to take up the approx. 1/2" the full size mags extend from the PCR?

The CZ custom store does. Item 10071. They work great.

Just noticed these are for 16 Rd mags. Should have mentioned I am in one of those states with capacity restrictions. Anything out there for 10 rnd mags?

Aren?t the 10 round full sized mags the same size, just blocked?  All this does is replace the base plate.

Using these bases on the all metal 10 round Mec-Gar mags will leave a gap of about .080? between the mag and pistol grip. Those 10 round mags are the same body that is used with the Mec-Gar Plus two mag base in order to make the 19 round mags that Greg Cote sells. When I make stainless base pads for these I have to cut the cavity .155? deep so the gap will be closed. The normal cavity depth for a 14 or 16 round mag is .075?.

My 10 rnd mags have a base plate as shown in this photo. The base is plastic and has an extension molded in to it that separates the base from the steel tube.

I know, horrible description. Been a long Monday...

I?d say from that pic you are not going to be able to use that part.

Used the spacer baseplate and a Mec-Gar 10rd mag. There was a small gap between the baseplate and bottom of the grip given the 10rd mag uses a 17rd tube. I filled this by fitting a piece of ABS plastic flat stock to the contour of the baseplate and glue attaching. Was a bit of work, but it worked out great!
