If anyone is looking for an extended slide stop for your 97, I have confirmed the longer slide stop off the SP-01 does fit the 97 B (and I would presume the BD).
When I first bought my 97 the only thing I thought could be improved out of the box was a longer slide stop. I did some research looking for one and there was some info pointing in the direction of the SP01 slide stop but nothing conclusive. The following month I bought an SP01, I swapped the slide stop and it was a perfect fit.
