Cz 75 compact Beaver tail

I recently saw a post by Scarlett Pistol on how he re-shaped
His 75 compact  ,, excellent work by the way,, I would really like to do this but nervous it may go horribly wrong,,   Has anybody done this and wished they wouldn't have  ??  I love my compact but that so called Beaver tail is digging into the web of my hand to where its uncomfortable and its leaving marks after a shooting session,,

Can't help with your question, but just wanted to say it's nice to know that I'm not the ONLY one with this issue with the Compact.  I borrowed a friend's when I was in deciding mode, really wanted to like the gun, but after 100 rounds, that "beavertail" ate a hole in my hand.   I went with the PCR instead, just because of that, well, that and I ultimately ended up standardizing on decockers.  Good luck!

When i am shooting one of my CZs with the stubby beaver tail allot i just put a small peace of gaffers tape on the lower edge of the beaver tail. I may reprofile one at some point but for now the tape works.

I certainly understand,,  I went down and held a P01 at my local shop and the feel is a lot more comfortable compared to my75 compact , I dont know but there may just be a new CZ in my near future  my yearly bonus will be on my next check and its burning a hole in my pocket something fierce    only thing is they only had it in stainless  (safety) and im not to keen on bright shiny firearms..
Even if i do buy another im seriously considering reshaping mine to fit better ,,  if it turns out nice i think a coat of ceracote in burnt bronze with the mag release,  safety,  hammer , barrel and trigger in black would be perfect......

I much prefer the upswept beavertail of my SP-01 to that of the P-01. With the P-01 beaver tail and a high grip, my skin between the thumb and forefinger slightly overlaps the edge of the beavertail and hammer bite kills me. This is especially true with the CGW comp hammer.

With the SP-01 and more upswept beavertail I can grip as high as I like with no hammer bite. The only relief I've found on the P-01 is to go with the CZC comp hammer that has a more flat back and slightly more clearance. Otherwise this pistol would have been sold long ago.

I've welded 2 upswept beavertail successfully and understand the issue you're having.

I'm still working on my 3rd upswept beavertail.

It's not easy for me but would probably be much simpler for a professional TIG welder to accomplish.

For comparison sake the other 3 are steel framed railed compacts with extended beavertails.

The one I welded is a surplus steel framed compact with manual safety.
