Cajun 97 Accuracy at 50 yards?
« on: January 26, 2019, 03:30:16 AM »
It's pretty darn accurate from a sand bag.

I've got a real nice Bob Marvel 1911.  But, I like the CZ better.  It just feels better in the hand.

I've got a very similar 97B"E" and have had similar results with the Atlanta Arms 185 JHP, and I think they load with the same bullet.
Your record keeping is a little better than mine, however.

1.2" at 50 yards is beyond outstanding.  Also shows how load development can take your pistol to the limit, great job, Big Dave

For the money, nothing in the 1911 world would even come close for the investment you have that 97.  Congrats and excellent shooting!!

I got the CGW Enhancement package done to mine (THANKS guys!). I haven't had it out as much as Big Dave and shot it off hand. My results weren't this good, but I'll bet they will be when I get a chance to rest it and work up a good load. Nice shootin'!

Right on guys.  Great gun.  Highly recommended.

Dave, when I get around to it I'm going to send it in for a 4 lb trigger and the rear sight put back in place so I can shoot it in Bullseye Service Pistol.  Not only does it have the accuracy but the ergonomics are so nice.  And the sights you set me up with are real nice too.

Thanks,
Dave

Hello, may I ask, what rear sight are you using? I'm wanting an adjustable rear to match up with the factory fiber front.

Hi,

I think it's a LPA.  I'm not sure of the model.  It required machining a new dovetail.  I don't see that as an option on CGW's website.

They have this rear sight that will drop into the existing dovetail and is the proper height.  This would be your best best for the price.  It's a good sight.  I have one on my Rami.

Good luck,

You?re running 4.2 of TiteGroup and it cycles?  I?m running 5.0 of TG under a 200 SWC Acme.

I should lower the load and give that a try.

Great shooting!!!

This is the LPA / Bomar sight machine work price and it includes the sight which is the same as the one for the Tactical Sport sight cut for $78

https://cajungunworks.com/product/lpa-trt-fully-adjustable-competition-rear-sight-wcut-220-00/

https://cajungunworks.com/product/86053ts-fully-adjustable-sight-set-for-tactical-sport/

Pretty good price considering that a local shop to me would want $200 just to do the machine work.

Been looking at 1911's lately but am thinking a CZ97 to scratch the 454ACP itch.

All these loads are lighter target loads.  I have a reduced power recoil spring installed.  No issues.  Dave
