Scorpion Micro with suppressor not good
« on: March 20, 2019, 10:38:15 PM »
I tried a Ti-Rant 9 on the Micro and at 30 yards it changed to the accuracy from excellent (no muzzle device) to off the paper bad (suppressed).

Does anyone else have experience running a suppressor on their Micro? So far for me, it's not good.

I spent a few hours experimenting with connecting with spin-on vs 3-lug and it made no difference. Anything I attached to the muzzle including the blast can from another Scorpion pistol affected accuracy.

I can live with an offset to the point of aim with the can, but not a doubling or more of group size and flyers to boot.

The same can on the EVO 3 S1 Pistol does not affect accuracy, and there is very little offset. I was hoping for mostly the same with the Micro.

I tried two factory subsonic loads and a number of 115 gr supers. A couple of the loads were clearly better, but nothing to write home about.

Maybe I'm asking too much for the short barrel. I guess I could check the muzzle threading concentricity, but that will not be easy.

I am anxious to find out if another suppressor (Osprey maybe) will work with its larger blast chamber.

Have you checked the suppressor to bore alignment with an alignment rod? The barrel might be threaded improperly. It would be a good starting point seeing as whatever is threaded on it changes poi vs shooting fine in stock form.
I don't have a factory micro but I do have the same barrel and don't have any issues. After I swapped to the shorter barrel it only took 3-4 clicks on the sight to be back on target.

Have you checked your end cap or baffles for strikes? I have to go alomg with the first poster, sounds like it is not threaded correctly.

The fact that other muzzle devices are affecting accuracy suggests that something is most likely off with the threading. But to confirm, you are using the fixed barrel spacer when attaching the can, right?  If you aren?t replacing the spring with the spacer, your accuracy will be affected as well.

This is with the fixed spacer provided by Silencerco. No baffle strikes.

Yes, the blast can result was disappointing. I plan to repeat this test.

A 9mm alignment rod is near-unobtainium gear. Bore diameter between the lands is .346 (8.79mm) per SAMMI.

I'm wondering if anyone has had success suppressing the Micro Scorpion. What ammo, and which suppressor? The device on the muzzle must deal with the extra blast from the short barrel.

Videos of the suppressed micro don't show or discuss accuracy, just plinking into berms.

Hiya KenH Hou and thanks for your thread, and see that being brand new to the forum a warm welcome from phoenix arizona. Happen chance or not I think you have a good shot at finding some help here in the days to come. Kinda sucks to have it be the weekend tough getting a company rep on the phone then. Next week a shout out to cz usa's toll free number should help, I'd suggest asking to speak to a cz gunsmith first and go from there. You may need to be transferred to another dept, such as LEO/Military.
At the cz usa web site,if ya read in the description for why they developed the Scorpion EVO lll S2 Micro, and when they needed a can to match it,they could not source it in the marketplace. That required cz to make the decision to make it themselves, they had to team up with Aerocharger and created the CZ S2 Ti Reflex for the Micro,as well as another model just to meet demand at another price point.I will be interested to see if Micros owners using a cz-usa can have similar issues.
I would think that the company has fielded questions from operators trying to adapt other cans that were not specifically built for the Micros, and if they can't help can make a good reference. And of course I'd also try to drop an email and phone call to Advanced Armament Corp, the creators of your, no pun intended, Rant. Again welcome to our humble cz community. Be well.

Was this the faux suppressor model?

Budget alignment rod $12 shipped. Round the edges slightly, use a little gun oil. In a real pinch an arrow shift can also work.

Thanks for the link to the rod on eBay. Just ordered it to eliminate that suspicion.

Yes - the Micro is the faux suppressor model. I only put 30 rounds through it when I picked it up from the dealer and removed it immediately. I did not pay close attention to the accuracy or grouping using the iron sights at that time but it seemed to be zeroed from the factory. I had a couple flyers but assumed that was me being lazy (and still do).

Easiest initial test would be a bore rod... see if its concentric with and without the suppressor mounted... im gonna go with the threading on the adapter...
