Short reach trigger and SAO?
« on: April 10, 2019, 08:35:22 PM »
Is this something I can put together?
I?ve got small hands and am trying to figure out the way to make a CZ work.

I don?t think so. The RRK uses a custom disconnector in addition to a trigger drilled for a pretravel and over travel screw.

Just install a SAO trigger and adjust the pretravel screw.

Flat SAO trigger is the shortest reach you can get.

I thought the same thing as Earl Keese until i saw this one. This is the only short reach SAO trigger i have seen, should work for the 75 variants and TS. Minor fitting may be required in some cases.

Hiya cz gunner and thx for your thread. Seeing operators chime in was already a lesson for me,with those new fangled SR design. How have you adapted your other platforms and is this SAO just planned for one platform? I didn't have good luck taking DA/SA and converting to SAO,so hope thats not the project. Be well.

Just for a visual reference, one of my Compacts converted to SAO with a straight trigger.  It's cocked/locked, so the trigger is where it would be when you fire it.

I just keep wasting time and money on other brands trying to find/make one shoot like my P07 and P09.  What is wrong with me?

Hiya cz gunner and thx for the thread. Perusing maybe the last year of your threads, have you had any reach issues with your VZ-58? Was it able to take a short reset package ?   I'd say that if the platform you are asking about here is the sp-01,that the short reset package will more than work for your hands, they could even shrink a little and be fine. As you can bypass any DA reach with dropping your hammer with thumb,or racking with your other hand. If your utility allows for considering a 75b-SA, or tactical sports,or TSO you have a factory made SAO and hand size won't be a problem there either. Just as the shadow 2 has a shorter trigger reach than previous shadows,a custom shop can remove some material below the beavertail to improve your existing platform. I'll never be 5' 11" again and we can't grow your fingers longer, but no need to shop for a derringer quite yet. Be well.
