Sp01 barrel question
« on: May 11, 2019, 02:46:25 AM »
On my new sp01 I noticed that the area around the peanut cutout and the barrel shoulders that impact the frame had a lot of chatter marks. Seen below

Also the raised ?shoulder/edges? that are present on the sides of the barrel under lug. Green area in pic

Are the same on my other CZ?s but on the barrel with the rough machining the right side of the under lug has no real raised shoulder.

Will any of this cause problems with the barrel or shorten barrel life span... should I call cz about this or is it just cosmetic

Thanks

I am thinking that it is cosmetic. I am also interested to hear other forum members input on the matter.
Will work for CZ pics! (including but not limited to all CZ clones)

Does it fit so tightly it won't operate?

If not I wouldn't worry about it.

Looks like places for lube/crud to hang out till you clean it again.

Think "sand cuts" in semi auto rifle bolts/carriers for the purpose of giving crud/dirt a place to accumulate (till you get a chance to clean/lube it) so that it keeps operating under less than ideal conditions.

The last CZ75B I bought had marks like that on the outsides of the trigger bar where they contact the frame.  I stoned/polished a little on each side but I left the marks/cuts intact.  The don't touch anything and I figured they'd be a place to hold some extra lube till the pistol needed it.
I just keep wasting time and money on other brands trying to find/make one shoot like my P07 and P09.  What is wrong with me?

My other cz barrels are machined well, I just hate to see this rough poor looking machining.

I don?t know if that in itself is enough to hassle cz about it

Thanks! I didn?t know if the little shoulder on the bottom lug had to be that pronounced like my others or not. Glad to know it?s normal.

Anybody out there know how hard it would be to fit a czc stainless barrel? I assume you could use layout fluid and file off the contact areas on the rear but not sure.
